To achieve autonomy, ConnectArts encourages students to feel in control of their learning by giving them choices and linking it to their individual goals.
Creativity
Creativity is nurtured within a setting that provides rules and a domain with skills to be mastered, but it does so in an open-minded way, with a focus on learning over the achievement of a specific outcome, choice within the boundaries and avoidance of a strict authoritarian approach. Dancers can focus on sub skills within broader performance categories of (technique, form, structure, and musicality) within targeted video frames of their performance . This approach aims to avoid boredom and increase intrinsic motivation, leading to higher risk-taking, creativity, and imagination as alternate techniques and artistic styles are being exposed to the performer
